Ear Infection

April 24, 2003 – 4:32 pm by Aaron

Finally heard back from the wife. Liam has an ear infection and he’s back on the Amoxicillin. Poor little guy. Then again, when I heard him in the background on the telephone, he sounded like he was having a grand old time. At what age do kids start faking sickness? If he’s anything like his mom, he’ll be a sneaky, devious boy who will get away with everything because of his cuteness.

  2. I’m not sure at what age that happens either. Actually, my kids haven’t done that yet. Usually what they do is the opposite. They pretend they aren’t sick and that they should be able to still go outside and play etc. Go figure. :/

  3. I still haven’t had a problem with the boys pretending to be sick but I remember very clearly a day where Tyler just looked down and I asked him what was up and he said (just as serious as can be) “Mom, have you ever had one of those days where nothing is wrong you just don’t want to go to school” Man, what do you say to that….I said you know son I have and they suck but you usually have to go anyway…but not today!!! So the two of us stayed home, watched movies and just hung out. He hasn’t asked to do it again..YET. But he sure appreciated staying home that day. Maybe it is like having candy around the house all the time, my boys could care less about it because it is always there but if it was some forbidden thing they would crave it 24/7.

  4. Jill-
I can only pray that my boy turns out as sweet and honest as yours. I hope it’s a family/inherited trait and that my corrupted genes didn’t overwrite it.
