I’m sitting here this afternoon and reading your article about how much you love being a DAD. I have to be honest with you when I say that it brought a tear to my eye. I’m soft, I know. It is early May, and our baby is due in December. I’m reading your article imagining in my head how much I am going to love this child that is almost here and I don’t even know his name yet. I can already tell you that ha/she(hopefully he) is going to be the most beautiful thing I have ever laid my eyes upon. But I don’t even know what color their eyes will be.
I think to myself and imagine just how much fun we are going to have together and I smile. I can’t wait to be in your shoes to see the world from where you stand. And I know that this God-given gift looks up to me.
I love them already!

I keep thinking I’m the only one that likes this stuff.
Took to the girls to the zoo today for the first time. Couldn’t get either one of them to ride in the stroller. Carried Anna in one arm and Alyssa on my shoulders for 4 miles. I’ll be crippled for a week. Good fun though. Critters were all cooperative and put on a good show. Alyssa told me we should put an elephant on our farm-a little one for her.

Thanks for the comment Wayne. You’re right, dads really don’t have a place to go to talk about dadhood. So, what would you think about me installing a Dad’s forum? Would take me probably 10 minutes to get it up and running.

Great site. I have a two year old and one turning one next week. So much for that on the road career. If I had known it was going to be this much fun I would have done it when I was 17 like all my friends did. Cant run quite as fast now.
The Alyssa(2) and Anna(1) are wearing us completely out. Alyssa’s thing is to climb on me when I’m asleep and hold onto my ears. I wake up to that every morning. Anna just wants to bite us on the chin. We think she’s trying to give us “love”-maybe just hungry. Oh well, little long winded-not many places guys talk about being parents.

Glad you stopped by. I love The Dad Chronicles – I read it daily. You’re right, kids are weird. I think it’s part of their charm.

Rich – I just wish he would start crawling already. His peers at the church nursery are starting to whisper behind his back.

Zack has a thing about hair too. He still grabs handfuls of his mothers hair. It (regretably) never works on me (curse you male-pattern-baldness!) but when he was a baby he would grab a tiny fistful and laugh uproariously when the short hair slid through his fingers and he failed to get a grip.

Kids are weird.

I agree, being a Dad is very cool. Wait till he starts walking. Then, look out! It’s amazingly how fast they can move. You’ll think that you are a breed of sheep dog.
