Please! I Just Want to Sleep!

January 17, 2003 – 4:34 pm

The boy has not been sleeping well of late. Either he’s still teething, he’s getting very hungry every couple hours, he’s having bad dreams, or he’s the spawn of Satan. I asked Jennifer about that last one; she assures me that’s not the case, but I haven’t ruled out a paternity test.

This morning I asked Jennifer if I could make a list of things that Liam does that I have a problem with, then when he’s older and can understand, show him the list and give him a well-deserved spanking. She laughed. It was very early and it was dark and I was groggy, so I’m not sure if it was a “my gosh you’re brilliant!” laugh, or more of a “good heavens, you’re an idiot” laugh. Either way I’m starting the list, just in case. Then she says I’ll never spank him, that I’ll chicken out, that I just couldn’t hurt him. Uh huh. What did I say? Nothing, I just laughed. Let her figure out what it meant.

  2. Well, you can’t experience true happiness without experiencing the darker moods of life, no? But its all worth it, ne? At least youre not going through it alone; you have your wife next to you all the way. After all the little aggravations of having a baby, your child will grow up, and you can be proud of yourselves =)

p.s. I found a site you might either be appuauled from or laugh. My sweetheart found it somehow, its the EXACT opposite of this site:

  4. I tell you it’s amazing the first time they sleep through the night. I remember when my 6 mos old slept all the way through – we’re talking 6-7 hours here. I woke up in the morning, jumped out of bed, nearly had a heart attack! He was still sleeping! Holy Cow! It felt great to sleep 7 hours after 6 months of sleeping about 2-4 hours a night. :)

  5. There was actually about a month or so there where he was sleeping at least 6 or 7 hours a night. But then he goes through a phase of not sleeping well. Since I wrote that, he’s had several nights in a row of good sleep – probably just to prove me wrong.

  6. Dude,

I have a hard enough time getting Andi to let him sleep in his own crib. It doesn’t matter if they sleep through the night or not. I think Anakin might just be territorial cause he sure likes to stretch out. He can start in the middle but by 6 a.m. he’s all about my side of the bed.

    sure miss you guys.
